CoALM (9U) is a 16-channel serial line interface designed for SPARC-based workstations.The architecture is based on a 16 MHz 68 microprocessor with 32 KB ofhigh-speed (0 ws) memory, dual ported between the processor and theVMEbus. The memory is used for running onboard software and databuffering.All data channels may be configured for asynchronous data rates of up to38.4 Kbaud and optionally for synchronous operation. Modem controlsignals are provided on all ports. Interrupts to the onboard processorfrom the data channels are handled on a FIFO basis.A PC-compatible Centronics type printer port is also provided. CoALM isavailable as a single 9U VME board.
